NSBI to support gaming company's expansion to Halifax

New York-based video game developer Longtail Studios is choosing Nova Scotia for its next level of growth. The company -- which has experience developing games for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS -- is expanding to Halifax, with plans to create up to 60 new jobs over the next five years. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), is supporting the company's growth with a five-year payroll rebate to a maximum of $1,077,397. Read more

Peter Mansbridge named chancellor of Mount A.

Peter Mansbridge, anchor of CBC News The National and chief correspondent for the network, will become the next chancellor of Mount Allison University. The announcement was made by Mount Allison's President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Robert Campbell on November 9th. He will become the eighth chancellor of the university replacing award winning Nova Scotian entrepreneur and philanthropist John Bragg. Read more

Duke and Duchess commence royal visit in NL

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, started their most recent Canadian visit in St. John's on Monday. The Duke, better known as Prince Charles, has toured Canada 15 times prior to this visit.
