The Atlantic Ink Festival ran from May 4-9, 2009, and celebrated the literary contributions and success of all the Atlantic Provinces.Newfoundland emerged as a province that those writers who don't even hail from "the rock" like to write about.

One Newfoundland writer came close to a prize, while a book with a Newfoundland setting did come first at the 2009 Atlantic Ink Festival.
