Bring the Stanfields Home!
NOVA SCOTIA BAND ENCOUNTERS VAN TROUBLE, ASKS FANS FOR SUPPORT!
(Halifax, NS) -- The Stanfields' first cross-Canada tour hit a major road block last Wednesday night when their van broke down in the mountains of BC leaving them stranded in Kamloops. The engine is blown and needs to be replaced at a significant cost.
Nova Scotia's celebrated roots-rockers The Stanfields lead the pack with six nominations in the upcoming Nova Scotia Music Awards. The band may have a tough time making it back in time to play at the Awards Gala (Nov. 7).
Luckily, lead singer Jon Landry was able to hop on with touring companions, The Birthday Boys and will play an acoustic set for the balance of the national tour dates.
To help cover the hefty cost of the tow bill and engine replacement - which amounts to $7658 - The Stanfields are launching a "Bring Us Home" campaign and asking fans for support. The band's goal is to raise funds to pay for their repair bill, get their vehicle back on the road and then high tail it across the country to be back in time for Nova Scotia Music Week in Yarmouth on November 4th. To show their appreciation for the support, The Stanfields will treat their contributing fans to a private show in Halifax soon after Nova Scotia Music Week (more details to come).
The band has set up a special webpage to accept donations:
