7 Things So East Coast About The East Coast Charity Ball

7 Things So East Coast About The East Coast Charity Ball

What makes the East Coast Charity Ball so East Coast? Check out our top 7 list, and be sure to find out for yourself on April 30th!

  1.     Donairs

Donairs

The East Coast at its finest – the delectable sweet mess that is the Halifax donair. Named the Official Food of the City of Halifax in 2015, it has been the official food of our East Coast hearts since birth. An Atlantic tradition as ingrained as Pictou County Pizza and Brother’s Pepperoni, we’ll make sure you get your donair fix! Our friends at Tony’s Donairs are flying up from Halifax to provide the real thing!

  1.     Signal Hill

Signal Hill

Nope, we’re not inviting a giant historical landmass to the party. We’re talking about the East Coast’s official party band! Resident band at the historic Lower Deck, hailing from Newfoundland, they are coming to bring the entertainment and the good times – sociables!

  1.     Complimentary Alexander Keith’s

keiths

An East Coast icon and legend, Alexander Keith’s has been an East Coast establishment since 1820. A favourite among many Atlantic Canadians, it will be the beer of choice at this year’s ball. We are thrilled to have longtime partner Labatt’s back as a sponsor once again.

4.     Jost Wine

Jost (1)

We are excited that our primary wine sponsor this year is Jost Vineyards, highlighting one of the many amazing wineries from our region. Jost Vineyards is situated in the Northumberland Shore region in Nova Scotia. Be sure to try a glass – wine not?

5.    “Who’s your father’s father?”

fathers father

This saying is bound to be heard once or a hundred times on April 30th. Experience the 6 degrees of ECC – before you know it you’ll be finding out that the person next you’s aunt lived down the street from your cousin, and your brother played soccer with their neighbour in undergrad.

6.    Tartan

tartan

Our friends envy it, our closets are full of it – expect to see tartans displayed loud and proud at the event. Our decor will be inspired by this iconic pattern, and there are sure to be a few kilts turning heads over the course of the evening.

7.    East Coast Generosity

generosity

East Coasters are often referred to as friendly and generous – these traits will be alive and well at the Charity Ball! The IWK Health Centre is an integral part of  Atlantic Canada’s community and a vital institution for the region’s future growth. You can count on some big generosity in support of this very worthy cause!
