Prince Edward Island tourism officials hoping for big gains may experience just that after New York Based Live! with Regis and Kelly taped four shows from Charlottetown Monday and Tuesday. With the help of local and international media attention, PEI became Google’s second most popular search topic in the US as a result of the tapings and the Charlottetown broadcasts have been the highest rated remote episodes of the popular talk show. ECC Profiles: UFIT Founder and Director Eireann Rigby

In late 2009, PEI blogger and CEO Tim Banks wrote on his website, “a few years ago I started taking notice of the name UFIT as it was popping up at some of the events I attended...It wasn’t long fterwards that I saw a fun looking Mini Cooper all ‘pimped out’ (an expression from my oldest son) with the UFIT logos.” That car was likely being driven by Eireann Rigby, and like Banks, other people took notice, too. Fredericton, Moncton gets the nod in MoneySense's Best Places to Live 2010

MoneySense Magazine published their annual Best Places to Live index, and two east coast communities have made the Top 10.  In their April issue, Fredericton and Moncton, New Brunswick were awarded the 4th and 5th best places to live in Canada, respectively.  Ottawa was crowned the #1 spot while Halifax and Toronto were ranked at #14 and #85 out of 179 communities.
